Summary

Project 100+ Unconditional Cash Transfer was a one-time unconditional cash payment of $1,000 provided to families with children who had low income in order to alleviate financial distress associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The program provided unrestricted, lump sum cash transfer delivered via a Hyperwallet account that could be used for any type of expense. There were no requirements for families to participate in any other services or meet work-related conditions. The payment was made in May 2020. 

The program targeted families who were receiving or had recently received Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits and were not receiving supplemental disability insurance. It was implemented in twelve states: Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island.
